Amy Harkey
Kindergarten 5 Teacher
Amy Harkey teaches Kindergarten 5 at Shannon Forest Christian School. She holds a degree in K-12 Learning Disabilities from Appalachian State University.
Amy brings nine years of experience in the field of Preschool and Special Education to the classroom. She taught 7th an 8th Grade Special Education classes in North Carolina and then moved to Missouri where she conducted on the job training with adult handicapped individuals for a year. After a move back to North Carolina, she taught Preschool students for six years. This will be her second year at SFCS. Amy taught a PK3 class during the 2010-2011 school year.
Amy and her husband Preston have two daughters at SFCS – Makenna is in the 5th Grade and Maddison is in the 8th Grade. Her interests include: reading, jogging, and spending time with husband, daughters and two dogs.
Amy’s favorite Bible passage is John 10:27-30:
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”
