Joshua Pedersen
Campus Chaplain and Biblical History
Joshua (Josh) Pedersen joins the 2011-2012 Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) faculty to serve as the Campus Chaplain and teach Upper School Biblical History. He has been on the staff of Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church (SFPC) since December of 2004, serving as Assistant Pastor, Youth Pastor and Interim Senior Pastor. Josh has served SFCS in past years through speaking at chapel services, conducting faculty Bible studies and substitute teaching.
Josh completed a one-year Bible program at Raven Crest Chalet (a Torchbearers school) in Estes Park, Colorado before going on to earn his BA in Biblical Studies and Philosophy at Palm Beach Atlantic University. He then completed his MA in Biblical Teaching at Erskine Theological Seminary.
Josh and his wife Olivia worked in Christian camping at Cedar Springs Bible Camp in Lake Stevens, Washington where they taught outdoor education. They went on to plant Summit Church in Orlando, Florida where Josh served as Pastor of Community Development. After three years, Josh and his family moved to Greenville to accept a position at SFPC. Josh and Olivia have been married for 12 years and are the proud parents of four, “lovely” children: Emma Ruth, Ansley, Bear and Stella.
In his free time, Josh enjoys mountain biking, running barefoot, Brazilian Jujitsu, UFC, working as a Red Cross disaster relief volunteer and participating in “Mission Upstate.” Josh also likes to read books on economics and community development and “keeping track of whether people actually read his bio!"
