CLUBS:
Key Club
SFCS Key Club
The Key Club had a great year here at Shannon, under the leadership of an almost entirely new team of officers. With the start of the term came a multitude of opportunities for the Key Club to get involved in Community Service. In September, Key Clubbers informed families in the community on Bike Safety, one of several branches of the Kids’ Safety program here in Greenville. Shannon Forest’s Key Club has been involved with the Kid’s Safety program each successive year since the Club was started, and over Labor Day weekend, several members spent time at the Greenville Drive games passing out flyers for a car-seat safety event.
Another Key Club activity included The Gardens at Eastside Assisted Living Home. Club members spent time with the residents at The Gardens once a month during the school year.
The Key Club hosted a fund raiser for the Piedmont Women’s Center. Baby bottles were placed in the cafeteria during morning break & lunch time. The money that was raised was presented to the Women's Center.
The Key Club also assisted with Operation Christmas Child. Collecting shoeboxes filled with gifts for underprivileged children throughout the world.
