SFCS Middle School Boys' Basketball Team Finishes Strong

          February 18, 2010 - Congratulations are due to the Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) Middle School Boys' Basketball team. The Crusaders finished out the season in 2nd place in the CMSC conference. SFCS took on Mt. Zion in the first round of the tournament and rallied in the second half to win big after trailing by one at the half. The second round game featured the 3rd meeting between SFCS and St. Mary's. The Ducks had defeated the Crusaders twice earlier in the season by 12 points the first time and by three in the second contest. The Crusaders played their best game of the year and defeated St. Mary's 43-23 on their home court. The final game was snowed out on Friday, February 12, and postponed to Tuesday, February 16. The Crusaders played hard, but were unable to overcome their lack of size and strength and were defeated by St. Joseph's for the third time this season. This was good enough to land the Crusaders a 2nd place finish in the tournament after placing 3rd in the regular season. "I am very proud of the way our boys played," said Coach Dustin Thompson. "They are a great group of guys with excellent attitudes and a lot of heart. I wish all of our 8th Grade players the best and I can't wait to get back to it with the younger guys again next year."
