Middle School Lady Crusaders Fail To Hold Off Lions

          January 31, 2012 - The Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) Middle School Girls' Basketball team played Our Lady of the Rosary, in a home game on Thursday, January 26. The Lady Crusaders came into the game needing a win, and came out on the court ready to play. SFCS scored 5 points and created 8 could see their opponents backing down. After a few turnovers and missed shots of their own, the Lady Crusaders began to get timid in their shot selection. "I continued to tell the girls to take the open shot and not to force the ball inside," commented SFCS Coach Kyle Heppeard. At the end of the first half, the score was Shannon Forest 7, Lady of Our Rosary 0. "We were playing really good, my only fear was that 7 points in a Middle School game isn't very many and the tides of the game could change quickly," added Heppeard. True to the SFCS coach's concern, the Lions came out roaring and scored 5 points. The Crusaders failed to put the ball in the basket which put the score at the end of the third quarter 7-5. The Lady Lions scored 5 more points without a Crusader answer. The game ended with the Lady Crusaders trailing 10-7. SFCS tips off against the Greenville Hurricanes on Friday February 3, at home at 4:00 p.m
