6th Grade Bridge Visit (1:30 PM - 3:00 PM)
SFCS 6 th Grade students travel to Gardens at Eastside, a Greenville assisted-living facility, to participate in skill building activities and engage in ministry opportunities with the residents. The Bridges Program visit begins at 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

KT Informational Meeting (5:30 PM - 6:30 PM)
There will be an informational meeting about the Shannon Forest Transitional Kindergarten (KT) Program on Thursday, February 2, from 5:30 p.m. – 6:30 p.m. in the KT classroom of the Early Childhood Building on the East Campus.

4th Grade Field Trip (7:45 AM - 8:45 AM)
Shannon Forest 4th Grade students will visit the Kings Mountain National Battlefield on Friday, February 10. The trip is in conjunction with the class study of the Revolutionary War. Students will depart at 7:45a.m. and return at 3:00 p.m.

Rising 1st Grade Parent Meeting (8:30 AM - 9:30 AM)
Dear Kindergarten Parents,
I know that there is a level of apprehension in making the move from our Early Childhood building to the new environment of Lower School. We desire to make that move as seamless as possible for your child. I would like to invite you to a meeting for parents of rising 1st Grade students. This will be an opportunity to meet the 1st Grade teachers, hear about our program and curriculum, and for you to ask any questions that you may have about the transition.
A few 1st Grade highlights:
- Did you know that our 1st Grade teachers have more than 45 years experience between them?
- Did you know that last year our 1st Grader students’ average reading score was in the 80th percentile nationally?
- Did you know that last year our 1st Grade students’ average math score was in the 91st percentile nationally?
- Did you know that by the end of 1st Grade, students have memorized more than 30 scripture verses?
We will meet on Monday, February 13, 2012 at 8:30 a.m. following morning drop-off. Please come to the Multi-purpose Room in the Lower School Building. We hope to see you then.
