Fine Arts

Fine_Arts_ImageThe Fine Arts Department at Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) exists to develop students' creative abilities for the glory of God. Students are offered instruction in three primary areas of artistic expression: Drama, Music and the Visual Arts. Students are trained in the history, theory and practice of each discipline. Annual concerts, dramatic productions and other events, allow students to demonstrate what they have learned. Participation in community events provides students with an opportunity to share their gifts with our community. Competitions and festival appearances give students vital feedback and recognition for their efforts. At SFCS, we seek to nurture the creative abilities of each student and celebrate their accomplishments.

SFCS To Premiere After School Music Lessons Program!

The Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) Fine Arts Department will premiere its extensive After School Music Lessons Program for the 2010/2011 school year. The program is designed to provide a convenient and affordable opportunity to develop the musical abilities of not only SFCS students and their families, but also to interested individuals in the surrounding communities.

Qualified music instructors will be on the SFCS campus from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, to provide private instruction in piano, voice, guitar, and all brass, woodwind and string instruments. There will also be a dance instructor who will offer instruction for younger students, ages 3-7. Several of these instructors will be present for Registration Day on Friday, August 13, to introduce themselves to our students. In the future, SFCS plans to expand the program to include lessons in Art and Theatre.
