 Choir
“TRANSFORMATION” is the High School Choir at Shannon Forest Christian School. The choir, under the direction of Rhonda Woodward, meets for a full period during the 4th period of “B Day” from 1:30 to 3:00 p.m. in the Music Room. During the year there are a variety of ministry/performance opportunities for which they prepare and rehearse, developing not only a substantial repertoire of music (having a unique blend of both contemporary and traditional elements), but learning basic music theory and proper vocal technique—including note reading, ear-training, and sight singing. Along the way, they also delve into the rudiments of harmony, counterpoint, form, and composition, and celebrate the creativity of composers and lyricists: past and present. Incorporating both vocalists and instrumentalists (guitarists, percussionists, keyboardists, strings, brass, and woodwind players), and, at times, working hand in hand with the SFCS Praise Band “COMING SOON”, the choir seeks to combine their God given talents for His glory, singing His praise, sharing His Word, and honoring Him with their lives.
