Century Club

Century ClubWhat Is The Century Club?

The Century Club is a group of families or individuals who are passionate about Christian Education at Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS).  Participants also support the Mission Statement of our school.

Why A Century Club?

It is our desire to raise funds that are collected through annual donations.  A minimum of 50% of the collected funds will be spent on teacher benefits.  These will include, but not be limited to: insurance, annual salary increases, new faculty recruitment, merit pay and continuing education.  Funds not utilized for faculty enhancement will be allotted to projects predetermined by the Head of School.  All Century Club projects MUST have a direct affect on the SFCS student body. In June, all Century Club members will be notified on how funds were spent.  At this time, you will be given the opportunity to renew your membership in the Century Club for the year to come.

Who Can Join The Century Club?

Membership in the Century Club is reserved for those families/individuals who commit to a support of $1000 payable annually or through monthly payments of any amount through June 30, 2010.  Members will be honored and recognized on a specially designed plaque in our Main Lobby.  As a Century Club member, you will help strengthen SFCS’ most valuable assets – our dedicated faculty and wonderful students.  All who are dedicated to …equip and challenge…to influence culture and society for Jesus Christ.

Randy Young, an SFCS alumnus and active SFCS parent shares his thoughts about the blessings of our school…

Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) has been instrumental in my life since I began attending in the 6th Grade. My teacher that year was Philip Temple. He taught me from a Biblical perspective, about Jesus, and through those teachings and my relationships at Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church, I came to know Jesus as my Savior that year.  God used many of the teachers and activities throughout my Middle and High School years at SFCS to mature my spiritual journey.

God used my participation in Concert Choir, under the direction of Ramona Gorham (now Ramona White) to instill in me a love of singing and sharing that love with Christians throughout the country.  Bob and Mary Downing, who taught History/Government and English, were like a second set of parents for me and many of my classmates.  Their academic teaching was extraordinary, but their love for Jesus and for their students, was even more important.  George Hopson coached the Soccer team and was an important spiritual mentor to us as players.  Our pre-game devotionals still hold a strong place in my memory.

My wife, Jan and I, now have four sons attending SFCS.  Both of us believe in the value of Christian Education and acknowledge the sacrifices it brings.  My past experience, however, solidifies our commitment.  Jan serves the school through volunteerism and I have served on the School Board since 1991, including acting in the role of Chairman.

Jan and I see our children being taught a Biblical world view by teachers who love to teach, and more importantly, love our Lord Jesus Christ.  We see coaches who not only help our students to be better athletes, but also strive for them to be better people.  SFCS has been blessed with teachers and staff who in turn deserve to be blessed.
