Shannon Forest Appoints New Vice President/Upper School Administrator

Shannon Forest Christian School is pleased to announce the appointment of Thomas Riddle as our school’s new Vice President and Upper School Administrator.  Thomas brings an extensive amount of experience in the field of education to our Administration.  He comes to Shannon Forest from Greenville County Schools where he served as a K-12 Grade Social Studies Curriculum Specialist, a Coordinator of Freshman Academy and Single Gender Education Programs and was a Project Leader for Phinnize J. Fisher Middle School. 

Thomas was also an Adjunct Professor in the Education Department of Furman University where he taught History of American Education.  His commitment to excellence in education also transfers to the movie screen in his position as Freelance Education Consultant for Lucasfilm, Ltd. in his work with Adventures in Learning with Indiana Jones.

Important Upper School Summer Reading Details!

Students in Rising 6th - 12th Grades are required to complete summer reading assignments prior to the start of the 2013-2014 school year.  Click on the link below for details on specific grade assignments:

Lower School Students…Reading Takes You Around the World!

BooksStudents in rising 1st - 5th Grades are encouraged to read (or be read to) for at least 30 minutes a day during the summer months. Please fill in your Frequent Reader Logs and return it to your child’s homeroom teacher by Friday, August 16.  Students who read at least 2000 minutes will have the opportunity to redeem their Frequent Reader Minutes for valued privileges at school.

Summer Office Hours

Shannon Forest will be closed on Monday, May 27, for the Memorial Day holiday.  Beginning Tuesday, May 28, the school will be operating under the following summer hours:
Monday - Thursday
9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
Friday
9:00 a.m. - 12 noon
The only school office open during the summer will be the Main Office located on the West Campus (US) Middle School Building.
