Grandparents Day 2011 is Friday, October 14

Students in PK3 – 5th Grade will celebrate this Shannon Forest tradition with a reception, special performances and classroom visits.

Shannon Forest is also adding a new opportunity to capture the memories of the upcoming PK3 – 5th Grade Grandparents Day! On Friday, October 14, a professional photographer will be available for to take portraits on this special day. Packages will start at just $14.

Read S’More Books at the Lower School Book Fair

Tuesday, October 11 - Friday, October 14

Shannon Forest is excited about the annual Lower School Book Fair and we have a variety of activities planned to promote the joy of reading!

The week prior to the Book Fair, students may participate in two contests:

“Gather Round the Campfire”

Students will have the opportunity to read books and fill in marshmallows with the number of minutes read. Each class will have their marshmallows displayed around their classroom door. The class with the most marshmallow minutes posted by Tuesday, October 11, will win a “s’more break” with Lower School Administrator Kathy Neely.

“Many Mini Marshmallows”

Guess how many marshmallows and win a $25 gift certificate to the Book Fair. Winners to be announced during the Character Day Parade!

5th Grade (Tate): 10:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

3rd Grade (McAlinden & Garrigan): 11:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m.

5th Grade (Dennis): 11:30 a.m. – 12 noon

4th Grade (Sowles): 12 noon – 12:30 p.m.

Wednesday – Scheduled class visits continue.

Thursday – Character Day – Students and teachers dress as their favorite book characters.
