2011 PK3-5th Grade Boosterthon Is Back!

The Boosterthon Fun Run program is a healthy alternative to traditional product sales that raises much-needed funds for our school and many others across America.  All PK3 through 5th Grade Shannon Forest students will participate in the nine-day Boosterthon that also promotes three specific values during the fun-filled program: Fitness, Leadership, and Character.

This year’s character theme is “EPIC Adventure,” and it’s all about Teamwork! Our students will be building character by learning the four secrets of good teams:

Boosterthon Fun Run Basics

1. The event will kick off with a 30-minute Pep Rally on Tuesday, October 25, in the Church Gymnasium on the East Campus and conclude on Thursday, November 3, with the Boosterthon Fun Run event.  The event will be held from 8:45 a.m. to 9:45 a.m. on the East Campus (Lower School) Baseball Field.  All SFCS Middle and Upper School students will be on hand to cheer on their Fun Run participants.  Parents are encouraged to attend.

2. Students will collect pledges towards the number of laps they will run at the Boosterthon Fun Run. If a parent or family friend works for a company that will do matching gift options, this is a great way to increase pledge amounts!

3. Every student will participate in the Fun Run, regardless of pledges raised, and will receive a “Boosterthon All-Star” t-shirt.

4. Enter your pledges at www.funrun.com. Each student has his/her own safe and secure Boosterthon Fun Run webpage to log in pledges and watch character videos. This year, sponsors can pay their pledges online!

5. All pledges are tax-deductible!

6. This year SFCS will continue to give 10% of what each class raises for the teacher to use in their classroom!

7. Donation come in from all over the world and students will have fun updating a large map in the lunchroom, so each day the Boosterthon team can point out the locations of the USA and beyond supporting our school!

8. The Boosterthon Fun Run Team spends 250-300 hours organizing the event, freeing up our teachers and administrators to focus on education!

9. Boosterthon Collection day is Thursday, November 10!
