A Message From The Lower School
HEADLINE STORY
Monday, February 9, 2004
One year ago, I arrived in Greenville to interview
at Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS). During my
stay I visited with faculty, staff, administration,
board and church members. I was drawn to SFCS by the
commitment to Christian education that I discovered
during my visit.

The recent grade-level parent meetings I held during
the month of January have been a tremendous blessing
to me and confirmation of
God’s blessings on SFCS. We had a great time at every meeting as we discussed
the year ahead. I really appreciate those families who took time out of their
busy schedules to attend. I left every meeting recognizing how truly blessed
we are at SFCS. I don’t think we stop to count our blessing enough. There
are so many I probably can’t even name
them “one by
one”, as the song says, but I would like to list a few to share with you.
Shannon Forest Christian School is blessed . . .
- with
families committed to Christian education
- with families who sacrifice to provide a Christian
education for their children
- with the students that God, in His
sovereignty, brings to us each year
- with teachers
who are qualified for their positions, committed
to Jesus Christ and serve
our children because they are called
to this
ministry
- with teachers who put in endless hours each week
to meet the needs of their students
- with a physical
environment that is conducive to learning
- with
faculty and staff who love and care for the students
- with the ability to provide an academic foundation
to support the college prep Upper School
- with
35 years of faithful servants who stayed “true” to
the mission of SFCS.
We are committed to our pursuit
of excellence in providing a balanced program for our
students. Our focus will remain on our students, providing
them with the instruction, challenge and nurturing
needed to meet their academic, spiritual, emotional
and physical needs. The curricular improvements made
for this current school year will be continued and
enhanced as we move toward a new school year. We will
continue to increase the opportunities for integration
of subject matter between academic domains, increase
biblical integration and student interaction in the
learning process.
Be confident that we are lifting
you up in prayer during this re-enrollment season.
We recognize the big decision you face each year. We
are honored to
partner with you as you follow God’s leading to re-enroll for a new blessed
school year.
In His Service,
Joyce Stocks,
Lower School Administrator
SFCS’ Adams Family to Relocate To Columbia

Scott Adams |
The
growing trend of layoffs, mergers and company closings
has touched the lives of countless families in our
community. The family of SFCS Chairman of the Board,
Scott Adams was no exception.
Approximately a year
ago, Scott’s employer underwent a merger that
resulted in the Greenville staff being given until
March to arrange other employment. Joyfully, God has
now provided Scott with the opportunity to join Pirelli
North America, Inc. in the company’s corporate
headquarters located in Columbia, South Carolina. Please
pray for Scott and his family as they endure a long
period of Scott commuting to Columbia between now and
the end of the school year.
During the summer the Adams
family will permanently relocate to Columbia. “The
most difficult part of the transition is knowing that
our children, Jordan and Alex, will not be attending
Shannon Forest Christian School next year,” said
Adams. “Both have been at the school since PK4
and it has, in all respects, been a most rewarding
experience for them and for Kathy and me. We have loved
being part of the Shannon Forest family and intend
to remain supporters of this wonderful ministry.”
