Holly Seppala |
Two SFCS juniors, Holly Seppala and Ben Van Dyke recently
received the prestigious award of outstanding officers
at the regional convention for the Carolinas District
of Key Club International held in Durham, North Carolina.
The Key Clubs of North and South Carolina are composed
of thirty-six divisions. Shannon Forest Christian School’s
Key Club is one of nine clubs in the Greenville area.
At the recent convention, each division recognized
the outstanding officers of their division for the
2003- 2004 school year. These officers were recognized
because of their outstanding fulfillment of their duties,
above and beyond the traditional role of the office.
This year’s District 29 award went to Van Dyke,
SFCS Key Club president and Seppala, who serves as
the SFCS Key Club secretary.

Ben Van Dyke |
It is quite an honor for our school to have received
both the Outstanding President and the Outstanding
Secretary awards. It is also quite unusual for such
a small club, especially a charter club, to receive
these awards. We’ve had a fun year full of learning
experiences and I feel that we have done a lot to be
active in our community. But, I look forward to next
year with the hope that we can go above and beyond
the precedent set this year and become an example to
our community as we witness through Christian service.
Everyone in the SFCS Club should be proud. Leaders
are only as good as their followers and club officers
are only as good as their members. SFCS members are
truly outstanding! They have risen to the challenge
and, more than anything, they’re responsible
for the club receiving these awards. The honor belongs
to the entire SFCS Key Club.
