Spring Fling Was A HUGE Success!
HEADLINE STORY
Friday, April 29th, 2005
Picture this….our sweet SFCS students huddled in the hallways of the school in tornado drill position…only this was no drill! What was the conversation they whispered in hushed tones as our teachers organized a rather wet and windy dismissal???? “Do you think they moved Spring Fling inside?” “Oh, I hope they don’t cancel Spring Fling!” Despite the nasty weather, the spirits of our SFCS family were not dampened and this year’s Spring Fling went down in history as being a huge success! The Gymnasium was alive and rockin’ with enthusiastic participants who jumped, slid, bungi-jumped, cake walked and ate cotton candy and popcorn. Meanwhile, parents were treated to an incredible shopping spree as they perused the wide array of Silent Auction items. Delicious Crusader Cupboard items were in high demand in the cafeteria - adorned with colorful Halls of Fun and Faith flowers, families picked up their quick and easy frozen casseroles and the Booster Club was cooking up a storm (in the rain!) to serve yummy hotdog and hamburger dinners.
There are no words to express the thanks that the multitudes of volunteers deserve for their planning, preparation and execution of an event of this size and magnitude. Perhaps it was best expressed in Matthew 25:21,…well done, good and faithful servant!”
