Suzanne Holcombe
HEADLINE STORY

Mrs Suzanne Holcombe |
After a quarter
of a century of service at Shannon Forest Christian
School
(SFCS), our family will be
saying farewell to Mrs. Suzanne Holcombe. It will be
as difficult to say good-bye as it is to imagine how
much the school has changed since she began teaching
at SFCS in 1976! Although she has seen many changes
over the years, Holcombe believes the mission of the
school has remained the same. The Math Program at our
school has been continually blessed through growth
and excellence under the caring and watchful eye of
this dedicated teacher. “Shannon Forest will
not replace Suzanne Holcombe, we will only be able
to set a new direction for the math position she has
occupied so commendably for so many years,” said
Upper School Administrator Brenda Hillman. “Suzanne’s
contributions to the classroom have been professional,
consistent and dependable, but the passion she has
had for Shannon Forest Christian School students and
families is what will be remembered for many years
to come.” Holcombe plans to enjoy being a “ stay-at-home” wife
with her husband of 31 years, Steve. Her future plans
also include finetuning her love of cooking, spending
extra time with her parents and finally starting to
pursue a dream she’s had since Middle School – learning
to play the organ!

Why God Made Teachers
When God created teachers,
He gave us special friends
To help us understand
His world
And truly comprehend
The beauty and the wonder
Of everything
we see,
And become a better person
With each discovery.
When God created teachers,
He gave us special
guides
To show us ways in which to grow
So we can
all decide
How to live and how to do
What’s right instead
of wrong,
To lead us so that we can lead
And learn
how to be strong.
Why God created teachers,
In His
wisdom and His grace,
Was to help us learn to make
our world
A better, wiser place.
