SFCS Transportation Improvements a PLUS!
HEADLINE STORY
Friday, August 26th, 2005
In
an effort to address the safety of our students as
they travel off-campus, the SFCS Athletic Booster
Club has stepped up to the plate to provide the down
payment on two, new SFCS buses. The goal of the Booster
Club is to pay off the vans by May of 2006 through
an effort known as Tee Off For Transportation. We
ALL want to keep our children safe on the roads, and
with the full support of our parents in the Lower,
Middle and Upper Schools, our SFPC families and our
many friends in the community, we can meet our goal.
A spring golf outing to be held on Monday, April 24,
2006, at the Greenville Country Club will be the culmination
of our efforts. Between now and April 24th, we need
to sign-up 72 golfers (18 foursomes). We ask that each
golfer raise a minimum of $1000.

Hillman accepts funds for the down payment on the
new SFCS activity buses from the Athletic
Booster Club president, Melanie Boccio. |
The balance of the
funds we need will be raised through corporate sponsors
and friends of the school. We encourage you to ask
your business associates and clients to participate
to make this a successful event. To date, we have
23 golfers ready to go and have already collected $1300.
Stop by the Fall Family Fellowship to have a look
at
the new buses and sign-up to participate or donate!

The Varsity
Women's Volleyball team christened one of the
new activity buses with a trip to an away scrimmage
in Asheville. Their smiling faces are proof of a
nice and comfortable ride!

Please Use Caution And Courtesy Behind The Wheel!
Let's face it, school is back in session and
so is the stress of getting our children to school
on time! Traffic problems in Greenville are at an all-time
high, which makes morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up
extremely difficult for our families. For the safety
of our neighbors in the Shannon Lakes development and
for our own students, PLEASE adhere to the following
traffic directions: •Please DO NOT speed through
our neighboring subdivisions, adhere to all speed limits. •
- Please
DO NOT block streets or driveways when waiting in
line for drop-off or pick-up, leave space for residents
to exit
- USE THE SECOND ENTRANCE TO THE UPPER
SCHOOL FOR DROP-OFF AND PICK-UP. •
- Please take
extra caution in looking in ALL directions before
turning at the new Garlington/ Snipes Road, intersection.
Many
drivers are simply heading out into traffic without
looking for on-coming vehicles, creating a harmful
situation for all of us.
Let's be courteous
to our neighbors and DRIVE SAFELY!
