A Special Message From The Headmaster
I would like to take
this opportunity to welcome everyone back to Shannon
Forest Christian School (SFCS). I hope all of you had
a wonderful and relaxing summer. It is indeed a joy
to see the campus once again teaming with excitement
and smiling faces. Quite a contrast from the devastation
and sadness I experienced while assisting my relatives
in Florida with cleaning up the damage from hurricane
Charley. It was unfortunate that I missed the excitement
of the first week of school, but I returned freshly
reminded of all of the blessings the Lord has bestowed
on our school and the community. We must never let
a day pass that we do not show our thanks and we must
continue to pray for those in areas of the world who
are less fortunate.
The 2004-2005 school year promises
to be one filled with new and exhilarating opportunities
at SFCS! You will soon be hearing more about a visionary,
new Endowment Program planned to propel our school
into the future and show the greater Greenville community
the true heart of SFCS. A heart that will affect today,
brighten tomorrow and remain forever. Remember these
words, Today…Tomorrow…Forever. You will
be hearing them again as we further share this exciting
vision in small group meetings to be scheduled this
fall.
I am also pleased to introduce our eight, new
faculty members. Our students are in for a treat as
these talented professionals share with them their
collective wealth of knowledge and teaching experience.
You may get to know them better in more extensive new
teacher profiles to be published in future editions
of the Crusader Communiquè.
Please welcome,
Raymond Barrow - Secondary History
Larry Clark - Secondary Science
Richard Eaton - Secondary
Computer and Orchestra
Matt Harmless - Secondary
Math
Teresa Hoover - Secondary Art
Dilsa Johnson -
Secondary
Spanish
Amber Thompson - Secondary Study Skills and
Math
Olga Whaley - Lower School Spanish
Finally, I’d like to congratulate all of our
Fall Crusader Athletes! There is definitely new and
exciting energy in the Athletics Department with full
rosters in Cross Country, Soccer, Swimming, Volleyball
AND the addition of a Junior Varsity Volleyball team.
Check out the game schedule in this issue or for the

Again, welcome back, God bless all of you. My prayers
and blessings are with you for a wonderful school year.

Road Construction!
In a never ending quest to solve
Greenville traffic problems…Snipes Road is being
widened and the connection to Garlington Road is to
be lined up with Shamrock Lane, eliminating the hazardous
left turn we all know so well. What does all this mean?
Construction! SFCS is grateful for the wonderful cooperation
of project engineers who have agreed to pull workers
off the job during our afternoon carline! This generosity
has been a tremendous help in our planning. Our recommendation
is that all traffic enter via Garlington Road to avoid
any delays. (Snipes Road near Roper Mountain is also
under construction!) A prayer goes out to all commuting
families for patience and understanding during this
time of growth.
