Church (SFPC) and Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS)
are joining
together for a fun-filled Fall Family Fellowship on
Friday, September 24, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. It
will be a great time to meet church and school administrators,
SFCS faculty, church members, parents and students.
This funfilled evening will feature giant slides, moonwalks,
games, face and hair painting and delicious BBQ and
hotdog plates. A big thank you also goes out to Pepsi
for providing 2-liter drinks for this event and stop
by and thank Blake - the DJ, who will be providing
great music again this year. Food plates may be purchased

“This
fellowship will bring together those who support our
school in a way that locks our hearts and arms around
this joint ministry,” said SFCS Headmaster, Doug
McLaughlin. “My first school event after arriving
in Greenville was the Fall Family Fellowship. I was
impressed by the loving atmosphere and commitment of
the families. When a family gathers, it becomes a celebration
of the good times and a reminder of what it takes to
overcome the tough times. Shannon Forest Ministries
is a close knit family with much to celebrate and a
tremendous
future,” added McLaughlin.
“I am excited about the unity between
the school and church in that I believe that our ministry is stronger working
together than it is
operating separately,” said SFPC
Pastor, Mike Rybka. “This Fall Family Fellowship is an example of that
unity.”

In the past, SFPC has held a Fall Festival as an alternative
to Halloween. SFCS has held a Fall
BBQ to celebrate the start of the
school year. “On Friday, September 17, we will have the fellowship
of the SFCS BBQ
combined with the fun of the SFPC
Fall Festival, all in one great event,” added Rybka.
“Since coming
to Shannon Forest, it has been my desire to see the school and church become
more
unified in our ministry,” added
Rybka. “I’m hoping in the years to come, that this will be more
than just a great fellowship for the people who are in our school and church,
but
that it will become a great
outreach for our community.”
“Dr. Mike Rybka has worked hard
since his arrival to share the
good news of SFCS with the
community,” shared McLaughlin. “I am thankful for the support
of the
leadership of the church and for its
continued commitment to the
school.” He added that, “When it comes to meeting the needs of
our community, we can accomplish
much more together as a united
ministry. This year’s Fall Family Fellowship will set the standard
for that united ministry for years to
come.”
