Lower School Administrator, Joyce Stocks To Pursue
New Adventure
HEADLINE STORY
Friday, September 24, 2004
We may not always like or understand the path
on which the Lord has us travel. Often we are asked
to blindly follow His plan for our lives and to do
so with joy
in our hearts. We share that joy with Lower School
Administrator Joyce Stocks, but we also feel sadness
when one of our Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS)
family members moves on to a new adventure.
After much
prayer and consideration, Stocks has submitted her
resignation effective on Thursday, September 30. “This
is not a decision that I have made quickly or take
lightly,” said Stocks. “I am unable to
say that I understand the timing but the peace that
the Lord has bestowed upon me validates my decision
to pursue an opportunity that provides for my long
term personal and professional needs.” Stocks
has recently interviewed for a position with the Iowa
State Board of Education.
“We will miss the
leadership Joyce has brought to SFCS and especially
to the Lower School,” says Headmaster Doug McLaughlin. “SFCS
has been blessed by her expertise and love and I ask
that all of us continue to pray for her continued well-being,
health and success.
When asked about the transition
period following Stocks’ departure, McLaughlin
assures that it will be a smooth one. “I will
work with our faculty and staff to see that the programs
that have been established in the Lower School will
continue and the current operations will not be interrupted
by this change,” said McLaughlin. The search
for a qualified Lower School Administrator will begin
immediately.
Stocks concluded, “I have been blessed
by my time with you and the children and will treasure
the memories and friendships I take with me. I will
continue to pray for God’s blessing on this ministry
and all the families it serves.”
Ecclesiastes
3:1 states “There is a time for everything, and
a season for everything, and a season for every activity
under heaven…”
