HEADLINE STORY
Friday, October 15, 2004

The Athletic Department of Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) is pleased to announce the formation of the Shannon Shoot Out, the first-ever, Middle School Boys and Girls Basketball Jamboree. On Friday, November 5 and Saturday, November 6, nineteen teams from the Carolina Middle School Conference (CMSC) will jump start the basketball season during this action-packed event. All games will be played in the Main Gymnasium at SFCS and in the Gymnasium at Mount Zion Christian School, also located on Garlington Road. The games will begin at 4:00 p.m. on Friday with the final game being played at 9:00 p.m. On Saturday, game action will run from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. SFCS will furnish locker room facilities for participating teams as well as water for the teams during their games. There will be an admission fee of $3.00 per adult and $2.00 per student. Hand stamps will be honored at both gymnasiums and concessions will be sold on both jamboree days. “ This will be an exciting time for all of the athletes and coaches,” says SFCS Athletic Director, Rita Harrell. “The Shannon Shoot Out Jamboree will not only get the season off to a great start, it will also foster a feeling of fellowship among teams, coaches and parents that will carry us through an entire season.” Let The Games Begin!

Fall Family Fellowship Was FANTASTIC FUN!

The SFCS/PTF would like to thank Pepsi for donating the soft drinks served at the recent Fall Family Fellowship BBQ, Blake the DJ for providing great music, R&A Amusements, ABC Rental and Smokin’ Stokes BBQ for helping us create another successful event. In addition, without the endless work from our volunteers, who helped serve the meal, beverages and desserts, sell tickets, set up and assist with the games, assist with the games and inflatables and clean up – the evening would never have come together! Everyone who satisfied their sweet tooth at the BBQ and cake walk did so through the efforts of all those who prepared desserts. Thank you! Finally, we’d like to thank Jan Young and Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church for providing all the games and inflatables. A fantastic time was had by all!
