A Message from the School Board
HEADLINE
STORY
Friday, December 2nd, 2005
The Shannon Forest Christian School Board is honored
to announce that Ms. Brenda Hillman has accepted the
position as Head of School.
As many of you already know, Ms. Hillman has served
our school faithfully since coming to us seven years
ago. During these seven years she has worn many hats,
including Athletic Director, Lower School Administrator,
Upper School Administrator, and interim Headmaster
on two separate occasions. She is fully qualified for
this position with a Masters degree in Education and
over 20 years of experience at the K-12 and collegiate
levels. She brings to this position a passion for Shannon
Forest Christian School – the children, their
families and the employees. Most importantly, Ms. Hillman
has a love in her heart for our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. She uses this love of Christ to guide her ministry
at Shannon and to fulfill the school’s mission,
which is “to support the Christian home and church
by providing quality education from an evangelical,
Biblical perspective in order to equip and challenge
students to influence the culture and society for Jesus
Christ.”
The School Board has full confidence in Ms. Hillman
and her abilities to lead the school. She has already
demonstrated this during the past 11 months while serving
as Acting Head of School. Both the School Board and
the Shannon Forest Presbyterian Church Session have
voted unanimously to offer this position to Ms. Hillman,
and we are pleased that she has accepted.
The School Board is very happy to bring this announcement
to you and we ask for your continued encouragement
and support of Ms. Hillman as the new Head of School.
This is a position that comes with a great deal of
responsibility and tremendous commitment. Remember
to also keep SFCS in your prayers as we continue to
expand this important ministry.
Please join us in congratulating Ms. Brenda Hillman,
our new Head of School!
In His Service,
The School Board of Shannon Forest
Christian School
Merry Christmas
Dear Friends,
How difficult it must have been for those in attendance at Christ's birth to comprehend the reality of what was occurring. I can almost hear the many questions being asked as observers gazed into the humble manger. The most gripping question they were pondering had to be whether this could truly be the promised Messiah. Mankind still seeks Christ and contemplates how He could be fully God and still have been fully man. The inerrant accounts in the gospel clearly state that Christ was truly God…truly the Deity, the Messiah sent from heaven. An unknown author expertly penned the reality of God dwelling among men;
He who is the Bread of Life began His ministry hungering. He who is the Water of Life ended His ministry thirsty. Christ hungered as a man, yet fed the multitudes as God. He was weary, yet He is our rest. He prayed, yet He hears prayers. He was sold for 30 pieces of sliver, yet, He redeems sinners. He was led as a lamb to slaughter, yet He is the Good Shepherd. He died, and by dying destroyed death.
I trust your entire family will enjoy the many opportunities to celebrate and reflect on Christ's birth this month. May the Lord bless your time with friends and family this Christmas.
In His Service and Yours,
Brenda K. Hillman
Head of School
Have a Blessed Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year!
