SFCS
Schedules Community Open House Day!
HEADLINE STORY
Friday, January 21, 2005
Friday, January 28, will be Community Open
House Day at Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS).
Invite your
neighbors and friends to visit our campus, which will
be open to the Greenville and surrounding communities
from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. “We are excited to
have the opportunity to share our school with the community,
shared Acting Head of School Brenda Hillman. “We
are looking forward to spotlighting the current curriculum
and supplying prospective families with information
regarding new and exciting initiatives for the 2005-2006
school year.” This Open House is unique in that
it allows families to experience a SFCS day while students
are on campus and engaged in their daily activities.
Teachers will also be available to answer questions
throughout the day.
This special event is further enhanced
in that it is also the favorite “Black and White” Day
in the 3rd Grade classes, a celebration of the completion
of the reading of Mr. Popper’s Penguins, a popular
children’s book.
Students
in 6th through 12th Grades will also be enjoying “Renaissance
Day,” a day that transforms the Gymnasium into
a Shakespearean era theatre and the Cafeteria into
a period castle. The day will
also include informational tours, Q&A sessions,
classroom activities and Drama competitions.
Visitors
will also have the opportunity to see the Crusaders
in Basketball action as our Middle School and Junior
Varsity teams face Oakbrook Prep beginning at 4:00
p.m. The day will provide a great opportunity for
new families to witness first-hand the fruits of an
uncompromising
Christian education and the commitment our faculty,
staff and students have to influence culture and
society for Jesus Christ.
