The National Merit Scholarship Program has
recently determined which of the 16,200 Semifinalists,
named
last September, have met all the requirements needed
to advance to Finalist standing in the competition
for Merit Scholarship awards to be offered in 2005. Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) is pleased to
announce that David Jacobs, son of Kerry and Candy
Jacobs, and Ben Van Dyke, son of Joel and Robin Van
Dyke have reached the final round of competition.

The
selection of some 8,200 Merit Scholarship winners,
from the group of more than 15,000 Finalists, is
now in progress. In March, the National Merit Scholarship
Corporation (NMSC) will mail scholarship offers to
winners at their home addresses and confidential
notices
will be sent to their high school principals. Media
announcement of Merit Scholar designees will be made
by NMSC in April, May and July. Congratulations,
David and Ben!
