5th Grade Student Mike Devon
gets help on his book report from Captain Butterfield |
5th Grade
students recently completed a fun, unique way of
doing book reports.
Students selected a fiction book to read
and produced a cereal box to describe
their choice. The front of the box was a
“ book cover,” the back featured a student produced game to play,
a toy invention was placed inside and the sides of the box gave details of
the nutrients (lessons learned from the book) and the ingredients (plot, setting,
characters) of the story. Each student then wrote and performed a “commercial” about
their book.
Looking Ahead…
Preparations are underway in the Lower School for
the 2004-2005 school year! Current SFCS families will
receive re-enrollment information on Monday, January
26, via communication folders. Parents should plan
to attend upcoming grade level meetings. Each meeting
will include information about the academic program,
extra-curricular opportunities, field trips and other
news of the advantages of being a SFCS student in that
new grade level. Faculty and Administration will also
be present to answer your questions.
