Don’t forget that Grandparents’ Day will be Friday, October 15. SFCS 2nd through 5th Grade classes will be performing Be Our Guest and other selections for this memorable day. Grandparents of PK3 through 1st Grade students will also receive an extra special surprise! Students will be making their grandparents proud when they perform a total of three songs including Swinging on a Star. Watch for more information to follow soon. All grandparents and special friends are invited to enjoy this fun-filled day at Shannon Forest Christian School.

All SFCS 1st through 5th Grade students receive grammar and writing instruction through the Shurley English Method. An informational parent meeting will be held on Tuesday, September 14, at 7:00 p.m. in Room 103B on the Lower School Campus.

The Shannon Forest Christian School’s 1st semester Music curriculum includes a 4th and 5th Grade study of the soprano recorder. During this study, students explore the Recorder Karate method in which students earn beads of various colors as they become more and more proficient on the recorder. The recorder is a perfect beginning instrument and is relatively easy to play. It is a wonderful way to put together everything that students have previously learned and opens the pathway to a future love of reading, playing or vocalizing the wonderful art of music.
