SFCS Classes Celebrate the 100th Day of School

Students sing praises of God's faithfulness |
Tuesday,
January 25, marks the 100th Day of School for SFCS
Lower School students and the celebration of this “milestone” day
involves a special day of learning for students. The
day will be spent learning and discovering creative
ways to reach the number “100!”
You’re Not Color Blind – It’s 3rd
Grade Black & White Day!
Friday, January 28, will
be a day void of color but full of fun for the SFCS
3rd Grade classes. The day marks the annual, favorite
Black and White Day, a celebration of the completion
of the reading of Mr. Popper’s Penguins, a popular
children’s book. Students dress in black & white
attire and enjoy numerous activities throughout the
day. Students will race to see who can build an igloo
out of sugar cubes and they will create origami penguins.
Crazy games will include races in penguin feet (scuba
fins) and lunch will feature a hamburger cookout, black
and white snacks and a large Mr. Poppers Penguin themed
cake.
Lower School Crusader Spirit FUN!
The month of January
will be full of Crusader fun with the following upcoming
Lower School Basketball events! Friday, January 21:
The Crusaders host an evening battle against our visitors
from Asheville Christian. The game action begins with
the Middle School Girls’ at 4:00 p.m. followed
by the Middle School Boys’ at 5:00 p.m. Our Varsity
Lady Crusaders play at 6:00 p.m. followed by the Varsity
Men at 7:30 p.m. All 1st – 5th Grade students
are invited to participate in scooter races during
the half-times of each game!
Friday, January 28: Don’t
miss the action between the Crusaders and our visitors
from Oakbrook Prep The SFCS Middle School Girls’ begin
at 4:00 p.m. and the Boys’ action begins at 5:00
p.m. Our Junior Varsity team takes the court at 6:00
p.m. Students will receive tickets at the gate that
will be marked with special numbers for halftime prize
drawings for each game!
