LOWER SCHOOL NEWS
Friday, June 3, 2005

SFCS parents had the privilege of welcoming and meeting our new Lower School Principal, Kathy Neely and her husband, Vaughn, at a beautiful reception held on Friday, May 27, in the Lower School Multi-purpose Room. Many thanks to Angelika Hartmann for her stunning centerpiece and floral arrangements!

4th Grade Paper Recycling Added Up To BIG Savings!

The 4th Grade Science class of Annalisa Roggow got a BIG lesson in saving paper during a recent unit of recycling and the environment. Students conducted a paper-saving contest among the 4th and 5th Grade classes. The results of their efforts were taken to the Enoree Landfill Recycling Center where students learned valuable lessons in saving God’s earth that will last a lifetime.
Congratulations to Mrs. Roggow’s class who saved: 112 pounds of paper!
Mrs. Ray’s class came in 2nd place by saving: 98 pounds
Miss Jones’ class came in 3rd place by saving: 85 pounds
Mrs. Jacobs’ class came in 4th place by saving: 57 pounds
Mrs. Dixon’s class came in 5th place by saving: 37 pounds

1st Grade All American Picnic ROCKS... Despite The Rain!

The 1st Grade students at SFCS didn’t mind the rain – OK – the strong storms – that threatened their All American Picnic Day. In keeping with our school’s enthusiastic spirit, children enjoyed games, relays, a great hotdog lunch and a patriotic cake made by Karin Overby. A musical program followed the games that had all of our SFCS parents, grandparents and friends thanking God for our wonderful United States! A special thank you goes out to Carolina Manufacturing for their donation of 48 patriotic bandanas that our students wore during the fun-filled day!
