It’s here! The biggest Booster Club fund-raiser
of the year – The Pay Later Magazine Program
has hit SFCS. Student DO NOT have to collect any money
for the magazines that they sell. Each customer will
receive an invoice
with the school and student’s name payable by check or credit card. The
SFCS Booster Club will receive 40% of each purchase price. The program also allows
the friends and families of SFCS the opportunity to renew their current subscriptions
or buy new magazines at a savings of up to 80% off the cover price.

Copies of Oliver North's Books Are Going Fast
There are less than a dozen signed copies of
Oliver North’s latest novel Jericho
Sanction available for purchase. Just four signed copies
of Oliver North’s book War Stories are
left! Please see Steve Whaley to secure your
copy or call 678-5113.
Spirit Wear Is In!
SFCS spirit shirt and jacket orders are in and
ready to wear! If you placed an order last month
you may pick up your items from Steve Whaley
in the Development Office.
Morning Bible Study Resumes
The SFPC Women’s Thursday Morning Bible
study resumed on Thursday, January 8. The focus
of this study is on the Book of I Corinthians.
Cost for the study is $15.00 per person. For

Evening Edition Women's Bible Study Resumes
SFPC Women’s Thursday Evening Bible study,
Evening Edition, resumed meeting on Thursday,
January 8. It’s not to late to join them
at 7:00 p.m. The group will be concluding A Love
Worth Giving, by Max Lucado. On Thursday, February
5, the study will focus on Living Beyond Yourself,
by Beth Moore. |
Information
sheets were sent home with each Magazine Sale packet outlining a new and exciting
Prize Program.
Highlights include:
- Sell Reader’s Digest and win sports binoculars
- Sell ESPN Magazine and win a sports FM scanner
radio
- Candy Day
- Double Points Day
- For each
order
turned in, the seller will receive one prize point. Points
may be used to purchase prizes from the Prize Store
open on Tuesday,
February 3.
- The Main Event: All
students selling six or more orders will attend the Main
Event on
Thursday, April 29. This event will feature
a
moon walk, giant
slide, bungee run, radar fast
pitch, climbing wall and obstacle course!
- Money Machine:
Each turn in day, one student will be drawn from
the
orders turned in to enter the Money Machine.
The student will have ten seconds to grab all the cash
they can out
of $500! The winners will draw their
cash on Tuesday, February 17, at the last home basketball
game.
New This Year:
- Give Your Teachers A Break! If 50% of the students
in a homeroom or classroom sell one magazine, that
teacher will receive a 3 day,
2 night vacation
to a choice of several exciting
locations.
- Sling Shot Monkeys! Students turning in three magazine
sales on the first turn-in day will receive a sling
shot monkey. These students will
qualify to participate in the great Monkey Slingshot Shoot-Out
featuring great prizes and surprises. The shoot-out
will be held at halftime of the SFCS basketball
game on Tuesday,
January 20.
- Sell 3 magazines, get 1 shot
- Sell 6 magazines, get
2 shots
- Sell 9 magazines, get 3 shots
Shooting or not, you won’t want to miss the great fun and action
of this event.
Remember, all proceeds go to the SFCS Booster Club.
The Booster Club supports
not only the Athletic Program, but also furnishes and provides
the upkeep of all playground equipment, furnishes all
of the balls and
equipment used in daily
play and in our Physical Education Program.

Early Dismissal Procedures
The next early dismissal date will be Friday, March
19. Families with Upper and Lower School children are
asked to please pick up their Upper School children
FIRST and then proceed to the Lower School pick-up
line. Thank you!
SFCS Inclement Weather Procedures
It’s that time of year again! Snow and ice can
hit at any time. If inclement weather delays or closes
SFCS, announcements will be made on the following television
stations:
- WYFF-TV 4
- WLOS-TV 13
- WSPA-TV 7.
- Information
will also be broadcast on the following radio
stations: WLFJ-FM 89.3, WFBC 93.7, WESC-FM 92.5,
WMYI-FM 102.5
and WSPA-FM 98.9.
SFCS will NOT follow the Greenville
County School closings and delays schedules. In the
event of a two-hour delay in starting school...remember
to bring a lunch. Students will NOT be able to order
vendor food. Daily items like hot dogs, corn dogs,
hamburgers, cheeseburgers,
ham & cheese or pepperoni hot pockets will still be
available.
