The SFCS Annual Fund Banquet Results Are In!
ALL SCHOOL NEWS
Tuesday, January 20, 2004
The December 12 Annual
Fund Banquet featuring guest speaker Oliver North was
a very, successful evening. The two objectives for
this event were: 1.) to have a significant impact in
the Greater Greenville area with regard to publicizing
the great experience of Christian education at SFCS
and 2.) to raise a significant amount of funds toward
our Tuition Assistance Program for the next school
year.
Signed
Copies of Oliver North's Books Are Going Fast
There are less than a dozen signed copies of
Oliver North’s latest novel Jericho
Sanction available for purchase. Just four signed copies
of Oliver North’s book War Stories are
left! Please see Steve Whaley to secure your

The outreach into
the community we enjoyed that night was far reaching.
Over 40% of the 430 attendees
were from outside
the “families” of SFCS. Countless positive comments from these individuals
reinforces the success we achieved in letting the community know about the great
benefits of having a child educated in a Christian world and life view at our
school. The glowing reports of a radio talk show host, a college president, a
city council member, Sunday school teachers from churches across town and business
leaders repeated to their friends, relatives and associates will have a significant
impact with new families considering SFCS during our upcoming enrollment period.
The costs involved with producing such an event were
funds well invested. Two surprises during the appeal
that evening provided a great boost to our fundraising
efforts. The first was when Oliver North wrote a check for $1,000 and said
he
would give this to the school if twenty people in the audience would raise
their hands in commitment to writing checks that night
for $500 each; that challenge
was not only met but exceeded. The second was a contributor that called me
just before the banquet to let me know that they would
match the first four contributions
of $2500. The $7500 collected from individuals stepping up to this challenge
was doubled to $15,000! (And yes, we are still looking for one more $2500 contribution
to complete this challenge). The total amount netted from this event so far
is over $54,000!
I would like to express my sincere
appreciation to the faculty,
staff, administration and students for all the work that was done to produce
this memorable night. A special thanks to all SFCS parents who have supported
and prayed that God would have His hand in this endeavor. May God continue
to bless us as we passionately strive to serve and
glorify only Him.
