SFCS Student Joseph Hayden

SFCS 5th Grade student Joseph Hayden will be spending 14 days of his summer vacation as a South Carolina, People to People Student Ambassador to Australia. People to People was founded by President Dwight D. Eisenhower in 1956. He believed that if people from different cultures could come together in peace and friendship, so eventually would world countries.

The program consists of meetings with government officials, interaction with other students, educational activities and home visits with host families. As a Student Ambassador, Hayden will also earn academic credit through the program’s many educational elements. Families interested in learning more about People to People may contact the Hayden family or visit the program’s website at www.studentambassadors.com. Congratulations, Joseph!
