Duke University Talent Identification
Program Identifies SFCS Student Qualifiers
ALL SCHOOL NEWS
Friday, October 7th, 2005
Twenty-three SFCS students have qualified for the Duke University Talent
Identification Program (TIP) 7th Grade Talent Search. These students
represent 58% of the entire 7th Grade class at SFCS. This program allows
7th Grade students who are academically talented based on standardized test
scores to take either the SAT or ACT. These tests are the same ones that
juniors and seniors take to get into college. Benefits of the Duke TIP include
the experience of taking an above-level test, educational opportunities such as
summer programs, resources for college preparation and a recognition
ceremony for higher scoring students. The students from SFCS who have
been selected to participate
