The Holiday Season Is Upon Us!

ALL SCHOOL NEWS
Friday, November 18th, 2005

Dear Friends,
The holiday season is such a wonderful time of year. In just a few days, the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas will become a hectic, incessant blur of excitement, activity and celebration. I have always found a level of satisfaction with the Thanksgiving celebrations occurring first.
A wise individual is credited with making the following contemplative
statement:
'Measure wealth not by the things you have, but by the things you have for which you would not take money.'

Overshadowing the fiscal needs of this ministry is a level of abundant
wealth for which I pause to give thanks:

I am thankful for families that choose to educate their children from a
biblical perspective; who are willing to assume the responsibility of partnering
with us to establish academic foundations, social boundaries and spiritual
growth in their children.

I am thankful for friends who stand with those who minister at SFCS;
individuals who provide encouragement, energy, prayers and personal care to
not only hold us accountable but hold us up when needed.

I am thankful for the freedom to worship unrestrained; the necessary
gathering of Christians that occurs on Sunday and at different points of the
week fulfilling biblical commandments that we 'meet together' for our
edification and God's glory.

I am thankful for co-workers who are driven by a passionate love for
students and an unquenchable desire to make a difference in their lives;
educators who long to see SFCS students making a difference locally,
nationally and even worldwide. These individuals are called to this ministry and
cherish the prayers of the families they serve.

Finally, I am thankful for God's grace; grace that looks beyond our human
deficiencies; grace that allows God to hear our hurried prayers of supplication;
grace that embraces and protects SFCS in spite of our inadequacies and
undeserving nature. Shannon Forest constituents and employees certainly have tremendous wealth for which to be thankful.

I trust your Thanksgiving will be filled with a wealth absent of monetary value.
'Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication
with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the
peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, shall guard your
hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.' - Philippians 4:6-7

In His Service and Yours,

It's Operation Christmas Child Time!

The SFCS Key Club will once again be participating with Shannon Forest
Presbyterian Church in Operation Christmas Child, a project of Samaritan's
Purse. Pamphlets and box labels are available in the Church, Lower or Middle
School Lobbies. Simply put together shoe boxes of the items suggested on the
pamphlets, enclose $5 for shipping and leave the boxes outside the Church
Choir Room. The deadline for delivering boxes is Sunday, November 20.
