Summer Mission Trip News

Students, faculty and parents of SFCS will soon
depart for the 2005 Summer Missions trip to Johns Island.
The group will
depart from school on Sunday, July 24, at 1:00 p.m. and will return on Sunday,
July 31, at 6:00 p.m. During their
time on the island, participants will be working with Habitat for Humanity
and ministering to the elderly at area nursing
homes. When preparing for the trip, participants should pack the following
items:
- Money for three fast food meals & snacks or
drinks purchased at camp
- Extra spending money for
souvenirs if desired
- Sleeping bag or sheets/blanket
for a bunk bed and a pillow
- One bath towel and wash cloth
- Beach
towel
- Toiletries
- Swimsuit (Girls – one piece or tankini)
- Sunscreen
- Insect repellant
- Hat for sun protection
- Sunglasses
- Reusable water bottle
- Work
clothes (long pants, closed toe shoes, t-shirts suitable
to painting and working)
- School dress code
clothes for outings and nursing
home ministry
- Old shoes
to wear in the water
- Flashlight
- Bible
- Nerf
balls, Frisbees, etc. for beach if desired

Students
should be in the midst of enjoying their summer reading
assignments. If not, don’t delay and start today!
Take note of the following assignments that MUST be
completed prior to the first day of school on Monday,
