By SFCS freshman Brandon Sage
On Wednesday, January 28, the
SFCS sophomore Homecoming
Court representatives gave their
speeches to the Upper School
students.
Maggie Smith was the
first to give her speech. Maggie has
been attending SFCS since the 6th
Grade and has participated in many
different school and sporting
activities including: soccer, drama,
Student Council and Key Club. She
accepted Jesus as her Savior seven
years ago when she was in the 3rd
Grade. Maggie’s favorite Bible passage is all of Psalm 139.
Felicia Hartmann came to SFCS from public school when she was in 6th Grade. She shared that
coming to know and love God was not a sudden event; rather, it was a growing
experience that happened over time. Felicia said that the Cherokee mission
trip, held this past summer, was one of her most memorable times at Shannon.
Her life verse is Philippians 6:4-7.
Susannah Ballinger also came to SFCS
when she was in the 6th Grade. She was raised in
a Christian home and was baptized
when she was in the 3rd Grade. Susannah has been on the cheerleading
squad and has participated in Key Club and Drama. Her
life verse is Matthew 17:20.
Laurie Lusk has been at SFCS for five years and has
participated in volleyball and basketball. Laurie has
grown up in a Christian home, but she realized
that she really needed God when she was in Middle
School. Her life verse is Proverbs
31:30.
