Washington D.C. is an awesome place to learn about
our country’s history. I believe it’s important
to learn about our past because the saying is true
- “those who forget the past are doomed to repeat.” When
you go to Arlington Cemetery and see the thousands,
even millions of people who have died to preserve our
country, it leaves you with a profound impact. It makes
you realize that we are duty bound to protect what
this country stands for - freedom in Christ.

While
Arlington Cemetery was one of the more solemn places
we visited, we also saw many fun and exciting places.
We went to Annapolis, the capital of Maryland, which
is a beautiful city and great to walk around in - as
long as it’s not raining!
Another place we visited
was the beautiful White House - the most famous house
in the United States! We also toured the monuments
and the downtown area of D.C.

One of my favorite parts
of the trip were the meals and our room time. We ate
at Hard Rock Café and ESPN Zone. In Annapolis
some of us ate at Normandie Café, a delicious
French restaurant. I was hoping to lose some weight
from all the walking we did, but I think all the great
food I ate counteracted that dream!
SFCS Drama Day Has Been Rescheduled!
The ever-popular
5th and 6th Grade Drama Day has been rescheduled for
Thursday, April 1, and Friday, April 2. During these “dramatic
days,” 5th and 6th Grade students will work in
small groups to study characterization, improvisation,
voice and diction. Students will also participate in
fun-filled and creative theatre games. Classes will
be led by SFCS Upper School Drama students, under the
direction of Drama teacher, Brenda Stephens. At the
end of the day, the students will perform for their
parents in the SFCS Main Gymnasium.
