UPPER SCHOOL NEWS
Monday, March 15, 2004
SFCS was recently represented by two teams at the
College of Charleston Mathmeet. The first team, Level
II, was composed of Pre-calculus students, David Jacobs,
Ben Van Dyke, LeeAnn Funk, Sarah Hanlin and Alex Lown.
This team brought home a 5th Place finish in the state
out of 62 teams who participated in the competition.
Special accolades go to Kara Staskelis who received
a 2nd Place in an individual sprint. Felicia Hartmann
also deserves special recognition as a 2nd Place winner
in a different sprint. Thanks to these two ladies,
SFCS garnered two out of the six sprint medals awarded.
Heather Lee was the top scorer for the Level I team.
David Jacobs and Ben Van Dyke tied for best score for
the Level II team. They also had the 11th highest scores
in the state. The teams also had to overcome ice and
