SFCS Leads the Way in Math Skills
SFCS teachers from K5 through the Upper School should take a moment
and rejoice in the success we have experienced this year in the field
of Math. The Math students from Pre-Algebra through Pre-Calculus have
completed an inordinate amount of work and should be commended for their
efforts. SFCS finished 1st place at every level of Math in the state
of South Carolina in the Association of Christian Schools International
(ACSI) Math Exams. Not only did SFCS finish 1st in every category in
the state, they also ranked well in seven states of the southeast region
of the ACSI. From SFCS, the Pre-Calculus and Pre-Algebra students finished
2nd out of all the schools. In the following we placed: Algebra II -
5th, Geometry - 6th and in Algebra I - 8th. Out of the four parts of
the ACSI test, these students achieved perfect scores on the given sections
as follows: Pre-Calculus Ben Van Dyke, highest score in the nation David
Jacobs, 2nd highest in the nation LeeAnn Funk Algebra II Robert McFarlin
Geometry Andrew Holmes Heather Lee Carolyn Rumsey
Algebra I Keith Early Meredith McDonald Andrew Schwendler Pre-Algebra
Philip Van Dyke Erin McGeachie
It is with great satisfaction that all of the students may look back
at their work and be pleased with these individual and team rankings.
SFCS teachers may look students they have taught, or have taught in the
past, and be very proud of the time and effort put in to producing these
champions. It is also the work of our parents, who have been a constant
beacon in support of this program.
