Take a DEEP breath….exhale and think…it's almost over! Christmas break is
around the corner, but first, Upper School Students need to concentrate on the
following semester exam schedule!

Exam Week
There will be a daily break from 9:35 a.m. until 9:45 a.m. All days will be on a
half-day schedule.
Tuesday, December 13 1A/2A Quarter Tests/Exams
Wednesday, December 14 1B/2B Quarter Tests/Exams
Thursday, December 15 3A/4A Quarter Tests/Exams
Friday, December 16 3B/4B Quarter Tests/Exams
Please note that students are to be present on campus for exams
ONLY. They are not required to attend courses that are not giving
exams. Students should utilize their time to continue with preparation
for core exams.
NO LATE STAY IS PROVIDED DURING EXAM WEEK.

If you've got college tuition on your
mind and are the parent of a SFCS
senior, you'll want to attend the
financial seminar to be held on
Wednesday, December 7, at
7:00 p.m. in the Upper School
Cafeteria. A representative from
the South Carolina Student Loan
Corporation will meet with parents
to discuss different types of aid,
completion of the FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid)
and how to access financial aid for
colleges.
SFCS Students Qualify For
Spots On State Math Team
The results of the SAT, PSAT, PLAN and ACT math
scores are in and thirteen SFCS students have
qualified to participate in the first round test in trying
out for the state math team. Last year, four students from SFCS tested
in to the top 130 in the state with two making the top 50 to compete at
Penn State. This year, the students nominated are Chris Bryant, Felicia
Hartmann, Caroline Hopkins, Robert McFarlin, Andrew Schwendler,
Andrew Holmes, Savannah Boccio, Carolyn Rumsey, Joe Sell, Caroline
Sellars, Kirsty Jacobs, Bradley Campbell and Adam Pitts. These
students may now add to their college resumes and scholarship
applications that they received this distinguished honor. After taking the
next level test, the very best math students will be invited to take the
second level test at Irmo High School. Congratulations, Math students!
7th Grade Parent
Meeting Scheduled
Current 7th Grade parents can
welcome the new year with exciting
plans and news about their SFCS
students at a parent information
meeting scheduled for Monday,
January 2, at 7:00 p.m.
Administrators and teachers will be
on hand to outline the upcoming year
and answer any questions you may
have about the final year of Middle
School. The meeting will be held in
the Lower Level Meeting Room 103
in Building 300 on the Lower School
Campus.
Christmas Candy Grams Support the Senior Class
The senior class will be selling Christmas Candy Grams as a special holiday fundraising project. Orders
will be taken during school hours from Thursday, December 1, through Thursday, December 8.
The grams of snowmen, Christmas trees, gingerbread men and candy canes are .25 each. Reese's
white and milk chocolate Christmas trees are .50 and students may send stuffed polar bears, penguins,
snowmen or reindeer for $3.00 each. Support our seniors and order your Christmas Candy Grams
today!
