Inaugural SFCS Track Team Poised to Set School Records & Add to Runners Qualifying for State

April 16, 2012 - With two meets under their belts, the inaugural Track team from Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) is in position to set the school record for their event and set the standard for subsequent runners. Shannon Forest already has three runners who have qualified for the upcoming State meet: Sophomore Olivia Cummins and 8th Grade runner Delayne Nickles, both qualified in their first race in the 1600, and Sophomore Mike Miller qualified in his first time ever running the 110 hurdles. Several runners are within 1 second of qualifying in their event: Russell Wellons (9th) in the 100, Blake Schultz (11th) in the 200, Kyle Bradley (10th) in the 400, CUmmins in the 400 and 800, Nickles in the 400. "Overall the team has run well and with three meets left to qualify for the State meet, the runners are focusing on the task of reducing their times and making the cut," said SFCS President & Head Coach Bob Collins.
