Upper School Anatomy Classes Find Themselves In a Pickle!

The Anatomy students of Susan Cooper recently performed autopsies on an unusual specimen – the pickle! The experiment reinforced anatomical terms and allowed the students to observe a superficial structure, practice precision cutting and the retracting of tissue and fluid samples. In the end... students had to conclude why the pickle died!

AP Biology Students Learn The “Skinny” On Epidermal Cells

Students in Susan Cooper's Pre-AP Biology and AP Biology classes took a close look at their own epidermal cells in a recent experiment. After retrieving samples off their clean wrists with tape, they placed the strip on a slide, stained it and examined it with the use of microscopes. The age old question – "why do tans fade" was answered! Tans don't fade – the epidermal cells shedaway.
