Welcome to the Lower School of Shannon Forest Christian School!   The Lower School is comprised of our unique Transitional Kindergarten (KT) Program, Kindergarten and 1st - 5th Grades.   Our faculty and staff are committed to partnering with parents to produce well-rounded students who are able to impact culture and society for Jesus Christ.  In an effort to cultivate a successful Lower School experience, faculty and staff members integrate Christian principles and a Christian worldview throughout all aspects of the school day.  We believe that God created all children; therefore all learn differently.  Our desire is to embrace these differences.  Through a combination of collaborative and creative teaching, we embrace learning through developmentally appropriate activity, technology, and traditional teaching.  Shannon Forest is excited to include INNOVATIONS, our new STEM Lab into our curriculum for the upcoming school year.  We would love the opportunity to meet you and your child.

At Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) our commitment to excellence is exceeded only by our commitment to Jesus Christ.  Our Lower School program provides a strong foundation in Bible, Reading and Language Arts, Math, Science and Social Studies.  In an effort to develop well-rounded students, SFCS offers Music, Physical Education, Art, and Library each week. Students who qualify can participate in our Learning Differences Program and our IGNITE Program (gifted education).

Our 1st - 5th Grade students and faculty participate in a weekly chapel service held each Friday afternoon at 2:15 p.m. in the Multi-purpose Room.  Chapel for Shannon Beginnings ages 3 and 4, KT and K5 students, is held on Wednesday mornings at 9:00 a.m. in the Music Room.  Parents are welcome to attend!

Through the use of our STEM Lab, Innovations, and our student led Celebration Garden, our students are provided with real-life experiences.  Innovations provides an arena for students to solve everyday problems using the materials provided, including Spheroes, 3D printers, and Lego Mindstorms.  In our Celebration Garden, students are able to develop a love for God’s creation as they tend to the garden space belonging to their classroom.

Our curriculum is also enhanced local field trips, as well as planned activities with our Upper School students.
