2012 Spirit Week Activity Calendar

All proceeds from the 2012 Shannon Forest Spirit Week will go to benefit a mission in Costa Rica called Transformación/The Guararí – la Cuenca project. Shannon Forest focuses on La Cuenca, which is part of Guarari, Heredia, Costa Rica, reaching out to 400 families and about 800 children.

Saturday, January 21: 9th – 12th Grade students will kick off Homecoming Spirit Week with a dance to be held in the West Campus Gymnasium from 7:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m.  The evening will include a photo booth, food, music and dancing.  Dress up or down to a retro-chic theme!

Monday, January 23: Pajama Day – students will enjoy a pancake breakfast and wear their pajamas to school.  The breakfast will be held in the East Campus Multi-purpose Room from 7:30 a.m. – 8:00 a.m.  Parents are welcome to attend. PK3 – K5 students must be accompanied by a parent to attend. Cost is $4 per person.

Upper School ONLY:
• Hot Chocolate & Doughnut Break - $1 each or drink/doughnut combo for $1.50
• Lunch – Pancakes ($4) & Dodge ball – entry fee is $4 per person or $20 for a 5-person team
• Bonfire & Kendama contest – entry fee is $10 per person
s’mores & hot chocolate for .50 - $1
West Campus
7:00 p.m.

Tuesday, January 24: Senior Citizen’s Day/Grandma & Grandpa Day – Dress up as a grandparent.

Lower School: Students can purchase two cookies & milk for $1.50 during lunch
Upper School:
• Cookies & milk will be for sale during Break - $1.50
• Lunch – Three-legged race & limbo contest entry fee is $2 per person per contest

Wednesday, January 25: Blast from the Past Day - Wear your favorite retro outfit from the 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s

Lower School: Students can purchase milkshakes & floats for $1.50 each
Upper School:
• Milkshakes & floats at break for $1.50 each
• Hoola Hoop contest at lunch – entry fee is $2 per person.  Milkshakes & floats also for sale at lunch
• Drive-In Movie Night
West Campus
6:30 p.m.
Students can sit in their cars and order hamburgers, hotdogs, sodas and fries delivered by carhops!

Thursday, January 26: Animal Day – students will dress up as their favorite animal!

Lower School: Students can purchase “Dirt Cups” for sale (chocolate pudding & gummie worms) for $1 each
Upper School:
• Baked goods & “Dirt Cups” for sale during Break
• Chili and beans with crackers and a drink on sale for Lunch- $4
Trough-eating contest – entry fee is $3 per person
“Dog Pound!” - Lock up a friend  for $2, get out for $1 or buy a $4 dog tag to save yourself!
A Shannon Forest Alumni Basketball Game vs. Men’s Varsity will be held at 6:30 p.m. and an
Alumni Volleyball Game vs. Women’s Varsity will begin at 8:00 p.m.  Both events will be held in the West Campus Gymnasium.

Friday, January 27: SFCS Spirit Day- students will dress in green, black and gold.

All School Pep Rally from 2:00 – 2:30 p.m.
Lower School: SFCS cheerleaders will be selling SF face painting during lunch for $1
Upper School:
• SFCS cheerleaders will be selling face painting during lunch for $1
• Salad and baked potato bar Lunch for $4
• Dodge ball contest – entry fee is $4 per person/$20 per 5 person team
• Tape your classmate to the wall!  Buy a 12” piece of duct tape $1 each.  Each class will select ONE person that will be taped to the wall during the Pep Rally.  The class whose person stays up the longest will WIN!

UPPER SCHOOL Week Long Activities

Bid for Parking Spot – bidding starts on Tuesday, January 17 and ends Saturday, January 21. Students can bid on a parking spot on the West Campus (US).  Park in the staff lot during Spirit Week in a reserved space.  FIVE spots will be auctioned off.  Bidding starts at $20 per spot.  Place your bid with any Student Council Representative.  Winners will be announced at the Homecoming Dance.

Lunch Out for SIX – You and six friends can enjoy a lunch out on Thursday, February 2. Bidding starts at $60.  Place bids from Monday, January 23 to Friday, January 27.
