The Silva-Mester 2018 class - Women on a Mission - made 20 kits for The Period Project that have finally made it into the hands of young women in Kenya.

The personal hygiene kits were distributed to a class of High School and Middle School girls.

Students in 7th - 12th Grade were seen all over town last Thursday, October 25, volunteering in the community on our first IMPACT Service Day.  There was also a team of young men who worked hard to ready our campus for the evening’s 50th Anniversary/Fall Fest Celebration. Well done, Crusaders!

Each year, the Shannon Forest community partners with a charitable organization to raise funds through an all-school service project.  This year, we are pleased to support the organization Water of Life through the sale of beautifully handcrafted elephants.  These handmade elephants make perfect Christmas gifts and support an important cause!  When you sell these elephants to your family, friends, and neighbors the money raised will come together to drill wells to provide life-giving, clean water to villages in India. Babies will live. Children will receive an education. All because Shannon Forest Christian School joined forces to help.

Large elephants - $15 each

Small elephants - $10 each (These make wonderful tree ornaments!)

They may look like a simple stuffed animal, but they represent so much more. These elephants represent a new cycle of hope in India. Each elephant is handmade by a girl who has been rescued from slavery. By sewing these elephants, the younger girls are learning the trade of tailoring and the older ones are receiving income to be able to provide for themselves and their future families. What’s even more amazing is every girl who sews these elephants has decided to donate back a portion of their salary to make it possible to rescue their brothers and sisters in Christ who are still held in slavery.

But that’s not even these elephants’ entire story! When you sell these elephants to your family, friends, and neighbors - the money raised will come together to drill wells to provide life-giving clean water to villages in India. Babies will live. Children will receive an education. All because Shannon Forest Christian School joined forces to help.

Each year, the Shannon Forest community partners with a charitable organization to raise funds through an all-school service project.  This year, we are pleased to support the organization Water of Life.  Over the next several weeks, our families will learn more about how we can help provide villages in India with the valuable resource of fresh, clean water.

Water of Life…
·       Digs wells, but they provide far more than clean water
·       Gives a mother the ability to keep her children healthy, away from disease-ridden water that contaminates and pollutes
·       Gives a daughter the chance to go to school instead of walking for miles, wasting hours each day to provide water for her family
·       Gives a son the freedom to dream and to learn a trade that will help prosper his village
·       Gives a father employment opportunities and a sense of dignity, pride, and purpose
·       Gives all the chance to know God and His love for them

In everything Water of Life does, they exist first and foremost to bring God’s love to people through a relationship with Jesus Christ. This is accomplished through indigenous pastor partners and sustainable church plants.
