The CONNECT Program at Shannon Forest Christian School (SFCS) is designed to expose the Shannon Beginnings and Lower School students, our PK3-5th Grade, to community service and foster a relationship with SFCS Upper School students. On each IMPACT Service Day, the Upper School students return to campus and spend time relaying the events of their day to their Shannon Beginnings and Lower School partners, sharing prayer requests for the ministries they have served, and leading a learning activity that is relative to service. CONNECT students also host various “collections” throughout the year to support local and national non-profit agencies who are involved in reaching the community. This may include, but is not limited to, non-perishable items, turkeys, clothing items, and other gifts as they are brought to the attention of the classroom teachers. It is our goal to train our students from an early age that it is a form of worship to care for and show compassion towards their community.
Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and
widows in their affliction, and to keep oneself unstained from the world.
